Will
Simply stated, a will (sometimes termed "Last Will and Testament") is a legal document in which a person directs how his or her property is to be divided and distributed at death. The technicalities of how the will must be signed and witnessed, and how its various provisions will be enforced and interpreted, will be governed by the law of the state in which the property is located. Thus, the distribution of real property will be governed by the state where it's located, while intangible property (such as stocks and bonds) will generally be governed by the state where the deceased person had his or her permanent address (called "domicile" by lawyers).
