Employment Service Letter Rules in Minnesota
In Minnesota, fired employees may, within 15 working days following their termination, request in writing that their employers specify the reasons for the termination. An employer must inform the fired employee in writing of the truthful reason for the firing within 10 working days of the receipt of the request. The statement furnished by the employer cannot be made the subject of any action for libel, slander, or defamation by the employee against the employer.
