Employment Laws in Wyoming


Definition of employee. Not specified generally, but for purposes of the equal pay law, employee means any individual employed by an employer.

Definition of employer. Employer means the state and its political subdivisions and every other person employing two or more employees in Wyoming, but not religious organizations or associations. For purposes of the equal pay law, employer includes any person acting directly or indirectly in the interest of an employer in relation to an employee.

Prohibited employment discrimination. Employers may not discharge, promote, demote, or discriminate with respect to compensation or the terms, conditions or privileges of employment, or refuse to hire because of disability, age (at least 40 but less than 70), sex, race, creed, color, national origin or ancestry, pregnancy, refusal to participate in an abortion, or use or nonuse of tobacco products outside the course of the individual's employment.
