Definition of Employee. Not specified.

Definition of Employer. Persons employing one or more workers are subject to the prohibition against discrimination based on age; persons employing 10 or more workers are subject to provisions prohibiting unequal pay for equal work based on sex; employers with 15 or more employees are prohibited from discrimination against people with disabilities.

Prohibited employment discrimination. Employment discrimination based on age (applies only to individuals between the ages of 40 and 70 years) and disability is prohibited in Georgia. Employers with 10 or more employees may not pay members of one sex at a rate less than that paid to employees of the opposite sex for equal work on jobs requiring equal skill, responsibility, etc.

Recordkeeping/posting requirements. Posting requirements apply only to public (i.e., government) employers. Employers subject to the equal pay law must keep an abstract or copy of the law posted in a conspicuous place in or about the premises where any employee is employed.
